It's Normal Now!

It’s normal now to see people talking as they stare at boxes on the shelves, look at clothes on the rack, walking down aisles and alone in the vehicles driving down the road. They appear to be talking to themselves, but upon closer inspection you see a “bug” attached to their ear. Oh the “Bluetooth” technology.

I remember as child I asked my mother, “Is it normal to talk to yourself?”

I remember her saying, “As long as you don’t answer yourself. They’ll think you’re crazy.”

All these years, I’ve concealed the fact that I talk to and answer myself. Why not? David encouraged himself in the Lord. (1 Sam 30:6) Maybe he talked to himself too. Perhaps that is what it takes me to get encouraged in the Lord.

I now have a solution to so I don’t look crazy. I attach a “bug” to my ear. I can now talk to myself (and answer myself if I reach a solution) wherever I go and no one suspects a thing! I appear normal! Or peculiar?

1 Peter 2:9 KJV

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Blessings in Christ--

I can't tell you how many times I've said, "Pardon?" thinking they were talking to me, and they don't even smile and point or anything, just totally engrossed in their conversations. I have to admit I've plugged in an iPod and pretended it was on not to have to talk with the person next to me in a plane. Sometimes, we just need our own time without the distraction of others who may or may not think we're rude. I love that we can sing in cars at the top of our lungs and even lift our hands and people think we're talking on the speaker phone, though. Christians were not called to be normal. Maybe it's a good thing. Love, annie

My sister walks around life with one of those attached to her ear. I have done the same thing Annie has.... "Pardon?" I think it's quite silly, really! It's one of the new technologies that I don't need in my life! That picture was funny! Oh... a friend of mine told me she accidently left it on while she went up for communion at her church. Too funny! Have a great day!

Love,
Angie xoxo

Oh my goodness those things scare me! I'd rather have my cell phone thank you very much Mr. Techonology! First, I'm not even sure how the durn thing stays on, and second I think I might be whipping my head around every few minutes to see what in the world was sneaking up on me. Only to find it'd be my "ear phone". Weird weird weird! And I never can tell now if people are actually talking to themselves or on their phone... weird.

You are so making me laugh! I talk to myself too, and my mom said the exact same thing! I did not think of attaching a bug..hahahaha I wouldn't even need it hooked up, God and I could just have our out loud talks..and it would seem very normal!

I guess I would have an excuse for talking to myself if I had one...but I don't. Been thinking about you a lot. Hope this week is full of His Peace and Presence. You are absolutely adorable.
