One Day at a Time

Matthew 6:11
Give us today our daily bread.

The words of this song say it for me.

"One day at a time sweet Jesus
That's all that I'm asking from You.
Lord give me the strength to do every day what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today show me the way one day at a time. "

I trust He will give me what I need for each day. His grace is sufficient. How do I know? Because He said so. It's in His word. Thank You Lord for Your Word!

It seems that so much of our social lives have food involved. Does anyone have suggestions on things to do with husband, children (10 years & 17 years) and friends (not all active & I don't crochet, knit, can food, etc.) that does not involve food?

Blessings in Christ--

one day at a time-HE is always faithful...I likr minigolf even though I never win...but I will pray for God to give you some ideas, or just something to help you overcome. Love you ! share what those things are..I will do them too!

I love that song, too. I was trying to think of some things--one of the things we learned when we traveled, was people in other countries are very good at building in a vacation in each day. Whether it is tea time at 4, or watching the sunset come over the Waterburg mountains in Africa, they celebrate each day. As days get colder, a bonfire with long visits in the dark, or a game of dominoes or cards is fun, by the fire. What about keeping a jigsaw puzzle going that people can work on? We do that during the holidays on a table in our gameroom where everyone spends a little time on it as they are led, and if we finish it, we get out another one, after we've admired it a few days! We're decorating for Christmas earlier this year, a few days before Thanksgiving, to be able to get a family Christmas picture when everyone is home at Thanksgiving. Just a few ideas, but I am sure you can think of more. Also, a good long walk in the evenings is great, even if you have to drive somewhere to shake up the surroundings a little. Any chanage of scenery is a good place to get the ideas flowing. Love, annie
