Thanksgiving Day

Remember to give thanks to the LORD! We certainly have much to be thankful for today.

Good, healthy families

Plenty of provision—shelter, food, and clothing

Good Jobs

Vehicles

Pets

Friends

The Word of God that has the power to change our lives!

Jesus—our salvation

I’ve read on several blogs of family traditions. Traditions of turkey, pumpkin pie, football, movies, watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on TV and so many other things. Our family is unique in that from year to year we do something different. This year we’re gathering with friends for the afternoon. My brother and his family are at the Dallas Cowboys game in Dallas. My Mom and step Dad at their home.

Let’s remember those who can’t gather with their families today—those who are serving in the military, law enforcement (federal, state, and local entities), doctors and nurses tending to medical needs of the infirmed and others that must work today to support the family. My husband and I have worked before on many holidays. Let them know that you’re thankful for their service. They’ll appreciate it.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”- Colossians 3:15

Happy Thanksgiving!

My husband has had to work Thanksgiving and Christmas most of our years, and I'm thankful he has a job.
