Who Among Us?

Ezekiel 22:30-31

"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.

Who among us will stand in the gap on behalf of our country and pray? Will you?

Our times today are not much different from the times of the prophets.

Let us pray for our land. Timothy urges all believers to pray for kings and all in authority.

2 Timothy 2:1-6 NIV
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.

I have written a prayer for our nation and placed on my prayer page on the website. You can go directly to that page here. This prayer is a place to start; please continue to pray for our nation as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Shonda,
Thanks for posting that prayer for the nation. I just made a weekly prayer schedule, and the president happened to be on the list today, so your prayer was very timely and appropriate! I appreciate how specific and extensive it was. Thanks again for taking the time to do that!

I have been studying and reading a lot in the OT and I also see the similarities between our nation and ancient Israel. We are so danderously close to the edge. I pray God's gracious mercy on us. Thanks for the prompt.

Oh yes, "if my people who are called my name will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways..." The Lord wants to heal our land! 2 Chronicles 7:14. We must pray!

I hope it is okay that I linked to your site. I should have asked. You wrote a powerful prayer that should be shared and prayed. When God searches for one who will stand up for Him, I pray we may be found in Him, faithful and ready to be used by Him.Love, A

Shonda,

Thanks for stopping by from Annie's Eyes. Your heart in this post is my heart as well. You are beautiful - beyond words, and that expression shows from your words to your face.

Siesta will be amazing for all of us. You have blessed me this day indeed. Love to you.

Shonda, I looove the prayer. I am in agreement with you and have a heart for our great nation to come to repentance.

I love that Moses stood in the gap for the Israelites and God "repented" and did not destroy them.

Just one interceeding changed history. May we, His people live 2 Chr. 7:14!
