Exceptional Drought

. . .till the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. ~~Isaiah 32:15 NIV

Hot and dry. That's what it is in south Texas. Those of us who live here are in extreme and exceptional drought conditions. Only a few more days and records will be set for the most number of days in a row for triple digit heat. This type of weather makes us long for rain.

Spiritually we can experience dry spells. However, the Lord, will pour out his Spirit upon us causing us to be fertile soil in a dry land. We may live in drought conditions, but our walk with the Lord does not have to reflect it.

We can live in such relationship with our Savior that the Holy Spirit keeps us and guides us and we live a life pleasing to our Lord. He's our source of nourishment. He's the only way we'll survive when the heat comes on us.

Tap into the power of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Lord as He will make our desert a fertile field.

How beautiful! I so needed to read this today, and that verse is so timely for me right now. It pairs well with another verse I've been meditating on, Jeremiah 17:7-8. I really enjoyed visiting your blog today, blessings to you!

I do NOT ever want to live in a spiritual drought again. Been there, do not want to go back. It is miserable.

We are dry here in the southeast as well and praying for rain, although not as dry as you are.

Thanks for the reminder about spiritual droughts.

Shonda,
I enjoyed the article that you wrote about being filled with the Spirit. I had to laugh at you and your husband trying to explain the green grass in the fields to Chase.

I am learning how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. It has only been in the last few years that I have seen the Lord work out situations that I never would have guessed.

You probably have been wondering where I have been. When my computer crashed, I lost all my bookmarks and URLs to blogs and emails. I am working off Alan's computer and found you through Marina who has you on a side bar that I hope to have one of these days just as soon as I get my new computer.

Will talk again soon,
Hugs,
cheryl

I remember living in Az. and wishing for rain. It was so hot there.

Here in Colorado we have rain almost every afternoon in the summer. Except for years when we are experiencing a drought.

Love how you apply this verse. I want a fertile field in the desert.

Have a good day!
