I believe for those of us who 'reign' as king or queen of procrastination, the act of 'putting off' whatever the task may be, is a comfort and allows us to feel we are in control of the situation as well as our life. The greatest danger is that we procrastinate about our salvation- we erroneously think we have all the time in the world to live life as we wish, and then make things 'right' with God while on our deathbed. May we remember Romans 9:15 and that it is not up to us to tell God when to show mercy; it is the prerogative of God as to when and to whom He shows mercy. Today is the day of salvation! May God help each of us stop delaying our response to such great salvation! May God bless you!Chris K.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8148005277457393373.post-91808646872958219792011-06-03T14:31:58.372-05:002011-06-03T14:31:58.372-05:00Hello, I come to via another friends blog.. Thank you for the reminder that all Christians are to be busy in the Father's work as we wait with anticipation for the return of our Lord! Too often, I feel many Christians lose sight of their responsibilities in working for the kingdom during this interlude within the Church age. Sometimes the cares of this world cause us to grow weary of 'well-doing', and this post is a great word of encouragement to us laborers in the field. I too have to c...Thank you for sharing this story.
I too have to confess that I fear and doubt. It is these kind of truths, not parables, but real life facts about real men and women that remind me of God's power to work through me against the odds too.
We need to do a little more digging and find more of these warriors for Jesus! It is Faith building!

King David, Ruth, Deborah, they all were human just like us. They feared too. They had to go to their knees and cry out to God too.
But the other thing they did was LET GOD lift them up and work through them. They put on His armor and defied the enemy!

I have found that surrendering DAILY to the LORD, and PRAYING HIS WORD back to HIM, and meditating on true to life situations like those of Benaiah, Jehoshaphat, Gideon, the Canaanite mother crying at the feet of Jesus for her daughter to be delivered from evil, strengthens me. Also remembering those like missionaries and pastors of our day (Elisabeth Elliot, and many others) helps me remember God's power is still here for us today! That brings me courage in my LORD Sabaoth to face my giants. And God bruises them under my feet! (Ps.91)
I am going through a trial right now that brings fear to me almost daily. I feel so weak at times,so I have to keep close to God for renewal of strength , for His comfort, and His protection. If I abide in Him, I find that under His wings is a fine place to be in my storm! And the enemy is afraid of coming near me when I am in my LORD's refuge!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8148005277457393373.post-40676275383507569942011-05-01T13:11:18.239-05:002011-05-01T13:11:18.239-05:00Fantastic post! Sometimes when God leads me through the wilderness I find it quite difficult to fully submit my will to the LORD and trust Him to act in His time and manner. As a pastor, I am acutely aware that my actions are scrutinized by my denomination as well as my parishioners. Yet, only when I commit to "Not my will, but thine" do I begin to live as Christ commands. Please pray for my family and me, that we would perpetually live as His disciples.

Chris K.Chris K.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8148005277457393373.post-42888992349941175102011-04-11T13:49:09.492-05:002011-04-11T13:49:09.492-05:00Great post that any Jesus-loving mom can certainly...Great post that any Jesus-loving mom can certainly relate to. I have learned the hard way and a painful way that it is all about their personal relationship with God.
I thought I could help them grow and I tried, but maybe sometimes too hard and even though I did not mean it as CONTROL , they saw it as that.

I have released them to The LORD, one now a prodigal(saved, but backslidden, running from God's ways), the other walking with God but very independent now.

The pain is in my heart that they have wilted some, but the words are in my heart from God reminding me to Trust Him and He will not lose them.
A friend of mine posted this yesterday on her facebook wall and God wanted me to see it. It gave me a peace as it also rebuked me in love of my worries I have had as a mother over grown children ( one choosing the world and crushing my heart):

I have been reading "A Gardeners Look at the Fruit of the Spirit" by Phillip Keller
Three great words that spell out growth in godliness:
Acknowledge -" God you are my God, You are very God" You know what is best for me
Accept His management. Herein lies peace and rest. I will not resist or resent your work in my life
Approve of Christ's ...Arrangement of your affairs- He intends to make you fruitful.

It just reminded me that ALL is in God's hands and I MUST TRUST in that!

Thanks for your reminder this morning too.
